Scarsdale Lady (bitch, w: April 1910, black, #217706, from Wm. Arkwright)

"Another man who was interested in, at that time, in breeding both field and bench winners, was Mr. Reg. Halladay, of Englewood, N.J. I have already referred to his field trial winner, "Silver Sides" by "Manitoba Rap", out of "King's Sister". In 1916 he imported a draft of pointers from the kennels of WIlliam Arkwright, of England. In this lot were two dogs and five bitches. The dogs were "Scarsdale Guitar" and "Scarsdale Paul". ... The bitches which Mr. Halladay imported were "Scarsdale Comet", "Scarsdale Lemonade", "Scarsdale Lady", "Scarsdale Wilful", and "Scarsdale Gypsy". I have had the opportunity to study the pedigrees of these importations and find that they embrace all the best English working blood. Among them were several blacks which Mr. Arkwright thought particularly well of." -- Hochwalt, 1923, The Modern Pointer
