"Another son of "Price's Bang" which came to this country only to die unappreciated was "Poyneer's Bang", out of "Luna", a daughter of "Wagg" [see notes below]. The dog was imported by W.D. Brown, of Mission Valley, Iowa, in 1881. This dog was built on similar lines as
"Vandevort's Don", although he was thicker in the shoulders and too wide in front, but fair in head, short and rather throaty in neck. In field condition he weighed about fifty-six pounds. Unfortunately "Poyneer's Bang" was appreciated even less than "Don" and he leaves nothing whatever to remember him by."
-- Hochwalt, 1923
[NOTE -- both AKC entries for "Bang" give "Luna" as the daughter of "Francis's Ch. Sancho", and not "Wagg"]
