"Still another importation of the Westminster Kennel Club was "Naso of Kippen", which was brought over in 1886. He was of an entirely different type from either of the two former, and many were of the opinion that in this dog the club obtained the best that they had yet brought over. In many respects this opinion was correct. From his skull back he was practically faultless. He was well made in shoulders, chest, ribs, loin and quarters, and he seemed to be properly proportioned from any angle that one viewed him; in fact, he was a symmetrical piece of machinery. But he lacked the chiseling before the eye and the squareness of muzzle that one likes to see in a pointer, and his eyes were rather small, light and beady. He came to this country with a very formidable bench and field trial record, and here in America he continued his successes in the latter sphere, but he was not started in American field trials. In the East he was bred to quite extensively, and in a short time his get were winning regularly on the bench; but field trial men at this time were deeply interested in other lines of breeding, hence he drew little patronage in that direction. As a consequence he never sired a winner, although his daughter, "Gladiola", bred to
"Lad of Bow",
produced "Champion Rush of Lad", which became the sire of
"Lad of Rush", and thus carried on that branch of the Graphic family in field trials through "Naso of Kippen" on the female side."

"Prince Albert Solms, of Branufels, Prussia, was the breeder of "Naso of Kippen", and he was whelped May 24, 1882. The blood lines on the male side are not so well known to the average breeder, for his sire was "Naso II", by "Naso", out of "Miranda II". The former was by "Duke", out of "Fairy", the latter by "Cotter", out of "Miranda". "Champion Maggie", his dam, was a splendid individual, by "Price's Bang", out of "Leach's Belle", which was by "Sancho", out of "Fan". Although "Naso of Kippen" has no field trial winners to his credit among his sons and daughters, his progeny figure in many pedigrees in addition to that of "Rush of Lad", previously referred to."
