""Donald" -- This was a liver and white dog bred by R. Andrews, and was whelped in October 1887. The dog was a Birmingham and Bristol winner, and when he came to this country was seen quite frequently on the American benches. He was imported by A.H. Moore, of Philadelphia. For some reason the American public did not take to him and it is said that during the entire time of Mr. Moore's ownership of the dog only two bitches, besides his own, were bred to him. Mr. Jas. L. Anthony, however, recognized "Donald's" merit and purchased him for the Graphic kennels. The dog sired some remarkably good puppies for his new owners, among them being "Rumor" and "Freedom", both well known winners. "Donald" was by "Norrish's Bob", who was by "Sefton's Sam" out of "Sefton's Flirt", therefore a pure Sefton. "Sappho", "Donald's" dam, was a daughter of "Whitehouse's Hamlet" out of "Pearl", who was a full sister to "Price's Bang". From this it will be seen that "Donald" was a combination ob "Bang", "Hamlet", and Sefton blood in as well balanced proportions as any dog brought to this country. He was a consistent winner on the bench in this country." -- Hochwalt, 1911

""Donald", a very handsome liver and white dog, was imported by A.H. Moore, of Philadelphia. "Donald" was a Birmingham and Bristol winner, and when he came to America was seen quite regularly on the benches where he met with averying success. He was a remarkably well bred pointer, being by "Norrish's Bob", out of "Andrew's Sappho", the latter by "Sefton's Sam", out of "Sefton's Flirt". "Bob" was by "Whitehouse's Hamlet", out of E.C. Norrish's "Pearl", a litter sister to "Bang", consequently an in-bred Bang-Sefton-Whitehouse. For some reason the public did not take to "Donald", and it is said that during the entire time of Mr. Moore's ownership the dog was only bred to one bitch outside of his own. Later on, Jas. L. Anthony, one of the owners of the Graphic Kennels which were formed in 1885, bought the dog and used him quite regularly. Among others that "Donald" sired were "Rumor" and "Freedome", both well known easter bench winners." -- Hochwald, 1923, The Modern Pointer
