3) "Brag" ... see notations below

EKC, sire "Random", brother of "Sancho 1004":
"The longest male line we have from "Brockton's Bounce", would read

"Random" (own brother to "Sancho") [who sired]
"Don" (Mr. Mason's) [who sired]
"Beau of Devon" [who sired]
"Don of Devon" (Mr. Bulled's)
-- EKC Gazette, September 1881, "Pillars of the Stud Book"
EKC, sire "Brag":
"Sir- In your article in last month's "Kennel Gazette" on Pointers, in giving the descendants of "Brockton's Bounce", you state that "Beau of Devon" was got by "Mr. Mason's Don", whereas he was by my "Don", the sire of which was "Brag", a dog that once belonged to Lord Sefton. And again you mention "Don of Devon" as belonging to Mr Bulled, whereas he is and has been from a pup. You will kindly give this a place in your next paper, and I thank you in anticipation. R.J. Stranger, North Molton, Devon Oct 3rd 1881"
-- EKC Gazette, October 1881
MORE NOTES - EKC Calendar and Studbook (VIII, 1880) gives "Don of Devon's" b'date as March 1878, the SAME EKC Calendar and Studbook gives "Beau of Devon's" b'date as February 1878 ... obviously something wrong
